Sausage and Cream Cheese Pinwheels
#Sausage #and #Cream #Cheese #Pinwheels

These little windmills are great party dishes. I hesitate to say "food for guys" because food is food, but the fact is that all the guys at the holiday party were going crazy for it. You can add seasonings if you want, but it's delicious as is.

I'm not a big fan of croissant dough, so next time I'll use puff pastry and maybe maple sausage, because I've tried the flavor of maple on several occasions + sausage + cream cheese.

Sausage and cream cheese rolls
Makes about 3-3 1/2 dozen, depending on thickness

ingredients

    2 tubes of croissant dough
1 lb sausage, cooked and drained
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

Instructions to cook:

1. Open the tubes of croissant dough and place them on a piece of parchment paper. Press the seams together so that there are no large gaps.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage and cream cheese and mix to combine. Add the mixture evenly between the two sheets of croissant dough. Roll the longer sides into a reel. Wrap tightly in parchment paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour or more.

3. When you are ready to cook, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cut into 1/2 "(thinner slice if you prefer, cooking time may be shorter if thinner) into thick pieces and bake on a baking sheet pastry lined with parchment paper for 10-14 minutes, until lightly browned at the edges, leave to cool and transfer to a dish.
